TechnologyHollow bar solutionsThe injection boring concept is a highly efficient process effectively installing the grout and reinforcement in a single pass without the time consuming drilling, extracting the drill rod, setting the reinforcement, and grouting. A 10 foot section of injection boring rod and sacrificial bit are placed in the drill and advanced into the soil formation. A light grout is circulated through the rod and up the surrounding hole outside the rod to remove excess soil. Once the rod is drilled to full depth, couplers and additional rods are added as necessary. As the rod is advanced the drill bit also tends to "wobble" increasing the drill hole size. Because of the drill bit wobble and the jetting action, an irregular hole wall is created with ridges and depressions along the lenght of the shaft.
