TechnologyMicro pileNW Soil installs injection boring (hollow bar) micro piles. Casing may also be incorporated in the upper sections of the pile to provide added stability and isolation from down drag forces in compressible strata. Micro piles are normally considered a small diameter drilled and grouted friction pile, bonded by cement grout into the bearing soil or rock. A test micro pile is typically installed at the site to determine the grout to ground bond capacity of the system. Final micro pile design is then based on the test pile performance so that the piling design is optimized. Injection boring micropiles are a cost effective alternative to drilled and driven piling systems that can be installed with effectively no vibration. Rock drill technology allows micro piles to be installed in virtually all soil types - even rock. Quick Reference |
